“Success is peace of mind which is a direct result of self-satisfaction in knowing you did your best to become the best that you are capable of becoming.”

-Coaching legend, John R. Wooden,
Head Basketball Coach, Emeritus, UCLA

About the Pyramid House

Our house name comes from John Wooden’s Pyramid of Success. Many of you will recognize John Wooden as the great college basketball coach of the UCLA Bruins where he won an unprecedented 10 National Championships in 12 years.

The Pyramid is John Wooden’s attempt to diagram the key ingredients necessary for personal success. The basis for the Pyramid is John Wooden’s definition of success: "Success is peace of mind which is a direct result of self satisfaction in knowing you did your best to become the best that you are capable of becoming." We plan to introduce these ideas throughout the school year and incorporate them into our regular school day.

Education is not about achieving A’s but about learning. With the help of the Pyramid of Success, we will teach students the characteristics necessary to be successful now and in their future.
